![]() It’s almost like a show within the restaurant, where there’s music and you just kind of lose yourself. Jeff Hamilton, president and general manager of Mohegan Sun, says, “You go in there and you’re immersed. One word that comes up when most people discuss TAO is “experience” - as in, it’s not just a place to eat, it’s an experience. ![]() This is TAO, which opened in late March at Mohegan Sun, becoming the sixth site of this patron (and celebrity) magnet. You walk through tables filled with customers nibbling on artfully arranged food - sushi or noodles, satay or wontons. You stroll into the dining room, where light is dramatically low, and the music is an upbeat mix of older R&B and funk. You see, straight ahead of you, the 16-foot-tall statue of Quan Yin, the Buddhist goddess revered by the Chinese, with her multitudinous arms extending around her. As you step up and over a little bridge, you are surrounded by walls with water running down them. If you have dinner reservations, you are greeted at the reception desk and then led through a bar/lounge, where stylish lights hang above low-slung couches. You leave the bright lights and hustle-bustle of the Sun behind as you step from the Sky Tower hotel lobby into TAO. Walking into the new TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge in Mohegan Sun is like entering a different, very cool realm. A main feature of the décor is a 16-foot-tall statue of Quan Yin, the Buddhist goddess revered by the Chinese, which overlooks a live koi pond.Ĭhef Ralph Scamardella, a Tao Group Hospitality partner, will oversee a menu that includes such signature Tao dishes as the Satay of Chilean Sea Bass, Lobster Wontons, Peking Duck, Crispy Snapper in “Sand,” and Tuna Sashimi Pringle.Įvery night, at least initially, a DJ will contribute to the atmosphere Tao seeks to create, McManus said, adding, “The idea is to transport you to the world of Tao.TAO restaurant at Mohegan Sun: hip design, delectable food, tough-to-get reservations The 10,000-square-foot restaurant, which has seating for 300 people, comprises 3,800 square feet of main dining and circulation space, a 1,600-square-foot lounge and two 700-square-foot semiprivate dining rooms. When Tao started booking reservations three weeks before its scheduled opening, it took 1,300 of them in the first 48 hours, he said. ![]() “We’re spacing things out at first, then we’ll slowly ramp up,” McManus said. In recent days, Tao has served Mohegan tribal members and invited guests in dry runs.Īnticipating operating at 50% capacity during its first few weeks, Tao has hired 75 employees and hopes to add about 50 more when fully open. This is a game-changer.”īrendan McManus, director of operations for Tao Group Hospitality, which operates restaurants and nightlife venues under a number of brand names, said the pandemic presented some challenges, including the need to prepare restaurant staff via virtual training sessions. “We’re trying to create reasons to come to the property,” Hamilton said of Tao’s being added to Mohegan Sun’s culinary mix. This is Tao’s sixth incarnation, the others being in downtown and midtown Manhattan locations and in Chicago and Los Angeles and at The Venetian resort casino in Las Vegas. “With the state’s restaurant restrictions lifting, we think this will help speed our recovery.” “Construction slowed and materials were scarce - at one point, glass was hard to find - but we never stopped, and I think we’re opening at the perfect time,” said Jeff Hamilton, Mohegan Sun’s president and general manager. ![]() Mohegan - While COVID-19 caused restaurants at Mohegan Sun and everywhere else to shut down and then gradually reopen over the past year, it did not significantly alter the casino’s plans for Tao, the Asian-themed restaurant set to open Tuesday just off the Sky Tower’s hotel lobby.Īll through the pandemic, work continued on the new bistro/lounge that’s been tucked into space formerly occupied by Bobby Flay’s Bar Americain. TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge, a new Asian-themed restaurant at Mohegan Sun. Once they’re within range, come after them with everything and everyone you can. You’ll want to pull him towards your units and preferably out of the Avo fog, so send that nice juicy high defense bait that can eat a Lodestar Strike. This is to help setup the swarming of Past Alear, who again, will have a pair of corrupted Revival Beads. Once you have your middle units getting closer to Past Alear and you’ve taken out a couple ballista, start changing those lanes or trying to get to the end of the upper and lower mountain areas. If you have any other mounted units, they’ll have greater mobility and can change lanes more effectively. If you have any fliers, they have the ability to hover over the large rock formations around the middle. Swam them if you have to because there are Psychic users nearby who will heal the Wyrms if you can’t kill them in one turn.Ĭontinue clearing the way and taking cover when you need. If you can safely get to the Wyrms without also putting yourself in position to be clipped by the ballista, take them out as quickly as you can. Make your way as best you can to the right of your starting position - which the mid mountain will already be knocked back for - and start clearing the way of enemies. The name of the game is slow-and-steady survival. Also consider inheriting Hit +10 from Sigurd and/or Divine Pulse from Byleth for this battle, as you never know when you’ll need to do battle with someone in the Avo fog. While this can be annoying for mountain movement, it leaves them unable to attack first or multiple times and allows you to get the jump all the time. You shouldn’t worry too terribly much about enemies that aren’t ballistas or Wyrms, mostly because even the ones who come as reinforcements will almost all have Smash weapons. ![]() We’ll also need to lean on Emblems like Sigurd and Lyn to cover lots of ground. The order of the sweeps will be lower, upper, mid and then repeat. Set characters accordingly, as you’ll be warned when the avalanche is coming 2 turns ahead of time. They will sweep down one section of the mountain at a time, sending your characters sprawling all the way to the bottom unless there’s a rock or an enemy behind them. The major gimmick of this level, however, is that there are avalanches that will occur every couple of turns. ![]() Be aware of where your fliers are at all times, as they can get taken down by the ballista. ![]() Make sure to keep your units in rows unless you want to be swarmed by enemies on all sides. The Wyrms can be taken out along the way, as can every foe you come across. The top priority should be to topple all the ballista, which will open up getting close to Past Alear with minimal risk. Past Alear, bearing two corrupted Revival Beads, is to the far right of the mid mountain. Each row of the mountain has a Wyrm and a ballista, as well as lots of Avo-aiding fog all over the place. Your army is split into three different forces in three rows that we’ll label upper mountain, mid mountain, and lower mountain. ![]() There's also a program uninstaller and a Windows Update utility included in this tool. Everything is done from inside the program, and you can clearly see the old and updated version numbers (and sometimes release dates) for comparison. If you haven't noticed a trend already with the listings above, I really like the fact that you don't need to open a web browser or search for the updated setup file on the internet (trust me, you'll appreciate this, too). You can also ignore any update to prevent update notifications for that particular program. Before downloading updates, the setup files are even scanned for viruses, which is really helpful.Īt any time, you can open OUTDATEfighter to check for software that requires updates. This means you can place a check next to all the programs that need to be updated to have OUTDATEfighter download them all one after the other, and then start launching the setup files. It just takes one click to batch download or installs updates. OUTDATEfighter does just as the name suggests-it protects your computer from outdated software by acting as a free program updater. It works with new and old Windows versions, including Windows 11 and Windows 10, and older ones like Windows 7 and XP.ĭidn't seem to locate as many outdated programs as similar toolsĬan't set up an auto-scan schedule to find outdated programs automatically You can also control whether restore points are made automatically before every installation and if installer files should be deleted after setup finishes. In the settings are options for when IObit Software Updater should check for new updates to itself it can update automatically or just notify you when updates are available. Automatic updating and updating more than two programs per day are available only if you pay. The program supports single updates and bulk updates. I like this so I can skip a version or two if they aren't major updates, but either way, you can very obviously see on this screen how much newer the update really is. ![]() It works with over 500 programs.Īs you can see in the screenshot above, the current and new program version number is clearly stated so that you know how outdated the program is. IObit has this really simple and easy to use software updater that has nearly all the features you need in one of these programs. Tries to install unrelated programs during setup Shows features that are only available if you pay I used UCheck in Windows 11 and Windows 10, but it should work just as well in older versions of Windows, too. A program uninstaller is built-in as well.Įxclusions, scheduled scans, changing the cache directory, and some other features are available if you pay. In the settings is a Windows Update option that you can enable to see updates for the Windows OS in UCheck, too. You can also download and install updates individually if you want to not update a particular program for whatever reason. All available updates will download one after the other and then install on their own - I can't stress enough how useful I've found automated installations to be! Just scan for outdated software, check the box at the top to select all the outdated programs, and then select the update button. Over 200 programs can be updated through UCheck, which scans quickly, is easy to use, and doesn't make you open your web browser even once to get updates. Some features you see aren't free to use. I use it in Windows 11, but I also tested it in Windows 10 and Windows 8, and it worked great. ![]() It should work with all versions of Windows. These are certainly the most important things I look for in a software updater. Some things I really like are the fact that it works so quickly, can be run from a flash drive, and supports truly automatic updates. The only thing I don't like about it is that the user interface isn't quite as friendly as what's offered by some of the other software in this list, but don't skip trying this tool just on those grounds. It can also work as a simple software uninstaller. ![]() There are lots of optional settings you can enable, like disabling silent installs, enabling beta updates, forcing programs to shut down before updating them and many others. You can update all of them at once, or uncheck the ones you don't want to patch (or, of course, let the scheduled auto-updates do it for you automatically). It's easy to quickly tell the difference between applications that are already updated and ones that are outdated because the green titles indicate up-to-date software, while the red ones show outdated programs. It's my favorite option not only because it's completely portable, but also because it will install software patches-no clicking and no manual update checks! Patch My PC is what I use on my computer. |
